On Saturday 1-19-08, 4 Tunkhannock Youth wrestlers took a trip to NE Bradford high school in Rome, Pa to wrestle in a round robin tournament. Tommy Traver was dominating on the day, pinning 3 of his opponents on his way to a 2^nd place finish. Elliott Hammersley pinned one of his rivals while placing fourth. Dakota Quick and Ryan Fink each earned bronze medals.

            The Junior Tigers competed in Penn League action on Sunday when they took on Wilkes-Barre YMCA and the Hanover Hawks. The day started out good as the tigers took charge, beating Hanover 71 – 30. Winning by fall were: Shane Sherwood, Gary Webber, Trystan Edmondson, Tommy Traver, Chris Packer, Dalton Ray, and Shane Edmondson. Also collecting wins for Tunkhannock were: David Gavek, Elliott Hammersley, Avery Hemme, Mike Pugh, and Ben Siegel. Josh Richards collected an exhibition victory.

            The little tigers ran into a buzz saw when they squared off against W/B YMCA, loosing by a team score of 70 – 27. David Gavek, Tommy Traver, Mike Pugh, and Ben Siegel won by fall, while Trystan Edmondson collected a hard fought 5 – 3 decision. Lucas Stage, Jake Richards, Joey Gavek, Dakota Quick, Justin Kozlansky, and Josh Richards rounded out the line-up for the tigers.

            The TYWC’s future varsity stars were on hand gaining valuable wrestling experience. Their accomplishments are as follows: Charlie Brown, Jeremy Peck (2-1, 1 pin), Erik Works (1-2, 1 pin), Brandon Owens (1-2, 1 pin), Brian Rosiak (3-1, 1 pin), Avery Newhart (4-0, 2 pins),  Justin Stonier (2-4, 2 pins), Conner Munley (1-4, 1 pin), Reed Atkins (1-4, 1 pin), Tyler Pugh (1-3, 1 pin), Kenny Ray, Zack Appleby (2-0, 1 pin), Dave Packer (2-0, 1 pin), Ryan Fink, and Duane Peck (3-1, 3 pins).
